Valleys Independent Speech Therapy and Advocacy Limited, trading as VISTA SLT provides independent speech and language therapy services for adults and children with communication and swallowing difficulties. We respect our clients’ rights to privacy when we are handling their sensitive personal information. What information do VISTA SLT collect about you and how do we use it?

This information supports us to complete assessment of your needs and determine a personalised therapy plan. We only ask for information that is relevant to our assessment / therapy processes.
How will VISTA SLT store your data?
VISTA SLT uses a practice management software tool called WriteUpp to store clinical records and clients’ contact information. WriteUpp is ISO27001 certified and fully General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliant. It uses two-factor authentication login and encrypted data replication across different servers to keep your personal information safe.
Our website is hosted on the lcn.com platform. LCN uses an online compliance tool called Iubenda to ensure that our website stores and handles your personal data in accordance with GDPR legislation.
How we use cookies
Cookies are small text files containing unique data to identify your computer to the network. When you visit a website, it gives your browser a cookie to store in a file on your hard drive. The next time you visit the same website, the browser will give back the cookie to identify you. Then the website loads with a personalised experience.

Controlling your personal information
We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your explicit permission or are required by law to do so. Associates of VISTA SLT may be given access to any Personal Information we collect, but their use shall be limited to the performance of their duties and in line with the reason for processing. Associates who have access to your Personal Information are required to keep that information confidential and are not permitted to use it for any purposes other than to enable you to use our website or to deal with requests which you submit to us.
If you make an enquiry, do not have any face-to-face sessions and no further action is required, your data is deleted within a month of your first contact. If you have one or more face to face sessions, then an electronic case file is opened using WriteUpp practice management software.
Client records will be held for a period of eight years after the care provided by VISTA SLT has ended. At the end of the eight-year period, the client record will be permanently deleted unless otherwise requested by the client.
We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about VISTA SLT.
